"An absolute triumph...one of the definitive records of the decade."
- from Rolling Stone's original review of TALKING HEADS: 77
Originally released in September 1977 on Sire Records, Talking Heads' brilliant 1977 debut album took the group from its art school roots and CBGB's notoriety to the pop culture forefront with classic tracks including "Psycho Killer" and "Uh-Oh, Love Comes To Town." Rhino's new reissue of this landmark LP on 180 gram virgin vinyl was remastered at Acoustech Mastering.
The Heads' arrival on the mainstream scene in the late '70s ushered in the new wave movement. Comprised of David Byrne (guitar and vocals), Tina Weymouth (bass), Chris Frantz (drums) and Jerry Harrison (keyboards and guitar), they went on to become one of the most critically acclaimed bands in rock 'n' roll. TALKING HEADS: 77 is now on Rolling Stone's list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time."
